Stage 1 - Comprehensive Development Control Plan (DCP) Review
We are seeking your feedback on the Stage 1 drafts of the Comprehensive Review of the Bega Valley Development Control Plan 2013 (Comprehensive DCP Review).
All development applications in the Bega Valley Shire are required to consider Bega Valley Development Control Plan 2013 (DCP 2013) as a matter for consideration under Section 4.15(1)(a)(iii) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Council has commenced a thorough review of DCP 2013, and Stage 1 is now available for public review and feedback.
Stage 1 seeks to amend or replace the existing sections of the DCP listed in column 1 with the draft DCP listed in column 2:

The Stage 1 drafts are supported and exhibited with new detailed stormwater guidelines that are referenced in the drafts and will supplement the DCP.

Feedback to the Stage 1 drafts of the Comprehensive DCP Review are welcome during the exhibition period which runs from 6 August to 17 September 2025.

Submissions must include your full name and address, contact details, signature and political donations or gifts disclosure.
Under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, details of your submission, including your name and address will be publicly available on request. You can request that your name and address not be disclosed by writing “objection in confidence” on your submission, however Council may still be obliged to release these details. Submissions that do not contain the author’s name and address may not be considered as Council will be unable to validate their authenticity.

The Stage 1 drafts reference Design Specifications and a draft Waste Management Plan template. These documents are not part of the exhibition package, however, links to them may be found on the Comprehensive Development Control Plan (DCP) Review Project Page. Feedback specific to these documents may be provided to the relevant Council staff for consideration but will not be incorporated with the submissions to the Stage 1 documents on exhibition, nor reported back to Council.
