1 July 2025
Bega Valley Shire Council is pleased to announce that Cleanaway will continue as the region’s waste collection contractor, following a competitive tender process completed in late 2024.
Cleanaway, which has delivered waste services to our community for over a decade, bring the experience and reliability our residents and businesses have come to trust.
The new contract officially begins on 1 July and ensures the same high standard of service will continue without disruption.
“There will be no changes to current collection days for households or businesses,” Waste Strategy Coordinator, Tim Cook said.
“It’s business as usual, but with some great improvements on the horizon.”
One of those improvements is the rollout of Cleanaway’s new and upgraded waste collection vehicles, which will begin operating across the shire from 1 July.
These modern trucks offer improved safety and environmental performance and they’ll soon have a fresh new look, with a unique local art project set to be announced.
“Keep an eye out for more information this week. We’ll be announcing a great opportunity for local artists to be part of something that will be seen right across the shire,” Mr Cook said.
Under the new contract, most customer enquiries and requests will now be handled directly by Cleanaway. For missed bins, extra collections or other waste collection questions, residents can contact Cleanaway on 13 13 39 or email [email protected]
All media enquiries and interview requests are coordinated by Council's Communication and Engagement team under the adopted Communications Policy. To view this policy, visit Public Policies and search 'communications'.
To submit a media enquiry or to request an interview:
