Temporary water interruption to Bermagui, Fairhaven and Beauty Point

Bega Valley Shire Council advises residents connected directly to the trunk water main servicing Bermagui, Fairhaven and Beauty Point of a planned water outage next week.

27 August 2025

Bega Valley Shire Council advises residents connected directly to the trunk water main servicing Bermagui, Fairhaven and Beauty Point of a planned water outage next week.

When: Tuesday 2 September 2025, between 9pm and 3am (weather permitting)

Where: Customers connected to the trunk main between Bermagui, Fairhaven and Beauty Point

What’s happening: Water will be temporarily turned off to allow reconnection of pipework as part of commissioning the new Bermagui water tank.

Please note:

  • The Bermagui water fill station will also be unavailable during this time. Visit Council’s website for alternative water fill station locations
  • Town water systems supplied via the Bermagui tank will continue to have water
  • Some trunk main customers may still experience partial supply due to residual water pressure
  • Once water is restored, we recommend running a tap for a short time to clear any air or minor discolouration.

Project background
Council is replacing the Bermagui water tank, a 40-year-old concrete reservoir that has deteriorated beyond repair. The new 1.0 megalitre concrete tank will ensure a safe and reliable water supply for the service area well into the future.

The $1.49 million project is fully funded through Council’s water fund.

We thank residents for their patience while these essential works are carried out.
