Bega Valley Shire Council recently endorsed entering into contracts for delivery of a range of significant community projects at its meeting on 16 April 2025.

“We are excited to move forward with these key projects which will have a significant impact on our community,” Council’s CEO, Anthony McMahon said.

“The endorsement of these contracts is an important step in bringing vital infrastructure improvements and community initiatives to life.

“The development of the new skate park at Ford Park Merimbula for example, will link well with the inclusive play space and multi-use courts nearby, creating a recreation hub sharing facilities and amenities. This project has been driven by a group of passionate community members focused on supporting our youth.

“The renewed and upgraded building at the popular Taylors Square recreation area in Tathra will provide a vastly improved amenity for the local community, visitors and those who require specialised high needs accessible facilities – the first of its kind in our Shire.

“The engagement of a qualified and experienced consultant to provide design concept options for Cuttagee Bridge is another step forward for this important project.”

We look forward to collaborating with experienced and skilled contractors who can help us deliver these significant projects.

At the meeting Council endorsed the CEO to enter into a range of contracts to deliver the following projects:

  • Merimbula Skate Park Construction
  • Tathra Public Amenities Building Alterations and Additions
  • Big Jack Mountain Road Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Retaining Structure
  • Bemboka Reservoir Replacement
  • Stormwater Relining, Maintenance and CCTV Inspection Services
  • Road Stabilisation and Sealing Works
  • Design Services for Cuttagee Bridge.
