Project Summary/background

Council is developing a feasibility study (including concept designs) and a workforce strategy to support the expansion of Council’s early education and care services in Bega and Eden.

This project began in 2022 with a review of these services which identified an opportunity to expand service provision in Bega and Eden in response to growing demand for early childhood education and care across the shire.

The current phase focuses on developing a clear path forward through a feasibility study, including concept designs, for sites capable for supporting expanded services. It also includes development of a Children’s Services Workforce Strategy to help address sector-wide staffing challenges and ensure a strong, sustainable workforce to support the delivery of high-quality early education and care in our communities.

Purpose

To meet the growing demand for early childhood education and care in our shire.

Funding

Initial phase $250,000 - Feasibility Study and Workforce Strategy.
