30 September 2025

Bega Valley Shire Council advises road surface stabilisation works on Lamont Street have been rescheduled and will commence after the busy school holiday period, from Monday 13 October. The works are expected to be completed by Friday 7 November, weather permitting.

Council’s Civil Construction Team will be carrying out the works between Bermagui River Bridge and Posidonia Esplanade from 7am to 6pm each weekday.

Road surface stabilisation, or pavement stabilisation, involves reinforcing and repairing existing road surface structures, helping create a more reliable and resilient roadway, extending the life of the road and improving safety for drivers.

Changed traffic conditions are currently in place with site preparation works underway.

For the duration of the road surface stabilisation works, changed traffic conditions will remain in place including a reduced speed limit and intermittent lane closures. Road users should expect delays.

Traffic control will be on-site to help road users and pedestrians. Where possible, please advise the crew members on-site of where you need to go and assistance will be provided.

Council thanks the community for their patience while these important works are undertaken.

For more information, please contact Council’s Civil Contracts Supervisor, Terry Maher on (02) 6499 2222.
