Project Summary/Background

The facility mix at Pambula Sporting Complex will establish a regional sports hub for multiple sporting codes and community events. The proposed redevelopments will considerably enhance the facilities for increased use by sporting and community groups across the region. Upon completion, the multi-use facilities will be able to cater not only for local competition and training, but also provide opportunities for local and elite sport development pathways.

The adopted Pambula Sporting Complex Master Plan is published here.

The project will lead to well-used, widely-enjoyed and valued facilities used by the local community and broader region. This is an ambitious project to update existing aging facilities and create Regional Sporting Hub facilities to service the South Coast and surrounding areas.

Purpose

The aim of the Pambula Sporting Complex Master Plan is:

To provide a regional sporting complex close to a range of transport and accommodation options that caters for the effective operation of clubs and user groups now and into the future and also has the ability to host large scale community events and sporting tournaments over several days.

Funding

The Pambula Sports Building project was jointly funded by NSW Government (NSW Office of Sport) and Bega Valley Shire Council.

There are a number of other elements within the masterplan that will require external funding. Cost estimates (2017) are included in the masterplan. Council is continuing to advocate to State and Federal government for these projects and continues to apply for funding through State and Federal grant funding programs.

Connection to Council's Community Strategic Plan
