Bega Valley Shire Library is seeking community input for the development of a new Library Services Strategic Plan to guide library services and facilities over the next five years.

Council’s Community and Cultural Services Manager, Yvette Parker said Council is extremely fortunate to manage four libraries that offer collections of books and other resources, a range of cultural, creative and learning opportunities and a wide array of services supporting the community.

“Libraries are places where the community can come together and connect, providing access to technology, creative and innovative programs, and meeting and study spaces,” Ms Parker said.

“There are always opportunities to engage in a host of activities.

“The new plan will ensure we adapt to changing community needs, manage our resources effectively and secure ongoing funding and support.

“Community feedback is vital for the development of the plan and we hope to hear from both library users and people who don’t currently use the library so we can find out if there is more we can do to support them.

“We want to know what you like and value about our libraries, and what you want and need in the way of services, collections, technology, building amenities as well as programs and events.

“We encourage everyone to do the survey, either online or pick up a hardcopy version at your nearest library. Alternatively, you can simply email us at [email protected].”

The survey closes on Wednesday 8 October.
