6 August 2025

Bega Valley Shire Council advises geotechnical investigation works are scheduled for parts of Bega, Jellat Jellat, Mogilla and Verona in the coming weeks, weather permitting.

These investigations mark the first stage in the stabilisation and improvement of road pavements and surfaces.

This will strengthen and extend the life of the existing road surface and improve driving conditions and safety for all road users.

On Thursday 7 August, geotechnical investigation works will be carried out on Mogilla Road, Terlichs Road and East Street.

From Tuesday 12 August to Wednesday 13 August, geotechnical investigation works will be carried out on Bega-Tathra Road between the Bega Showground and Boundary Road and between Thornhill Road and Henry Taylor Road.

From Tuesday 19 August to Wednesday 20 August, geotechnical investigation works will be carried out on Bega Street, Upper Street, Auckland Street and Belmore Street.

Contractors will be carrying out the works between 7am and 6pm each day.

There will be no on-street parking during working hours.

Changed traffic conditions with traffic control will be in place for the duration of the works, with access reduced to a single lane. Road users should expect delays.

Council thanks the community for their patience while these important works are undertaken.
