Merimbula Boardwalk fully reopened

Repair works on the eastern section of the Merimbula Boardwalk are now complete and the entire boardwalk has reopened to the public.

7 August 2025

Repair works on the eastern section of the Merimbula Boardwalk are now complete and the entire boardwalk has reopened to the public.

Council staff carried out repairs to the eastern section closest to town, which was more severely impacted by the recent tidal surges and high winds.

Council’s team will continue to carry out inspections twice weekly along the boardwalk to monitor its conditions.

These temporary repairs have made it possible to reopen the boardwalk before works to fully replace the entire boardwalk start in mid-2026.

The Merimbula Boardwalk and Foreshore Path upgrade project will enhance the experience of one of the shire’s most popular attractions, supporting accessibility, environmental sustainability and tourism.

Council thanks the community for their patience and cooperation while these works were being carried out.
