Bega Valley Shire Council advises footpath renewal works will be carried out on Auckland Street and Carp Street, Bega from Monday 16 June to Friday 4 July, weather permitting.
Works will begin on Carp Street, between Peden Street and Auckland Street, and will finish on Auckland Street near the intersection with Gowings Lane.
Contractors will renew the footpath, which has sustained significant damage due to root ingress that has caused cracking and lifting of the pavers, as well as damage to essential subsurface infrastructure.
These works will improve footpath safety and accessibility and help protect essential underground infrastructure.
Tree works will also be carried out as part of the project. A partial road closure will be required during this stage, and Council will provide an update to the community once a date is confirmed.
Pedestrian and traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works. Road users should expect minor delays and allow extra travel time.
Council thanks the community for their patience while these important improvements are undertaken.
