Bega Valley Shire Council advises works to replace the ageing water reservoir in Bemboka will begin from Tuesday 7 October and are expected to be completed by May 2026, weather permitting.
The first phase will involve foundation construction and pipework installation and is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
Tank construction will follow in February 2026, with commissioning in March and demolition of the old reservoir in May.
During construction, the existing reservoir will continue to operate, ensuring residents have access to safe drinking water with no major disruptions.
There may be short water supply interruptions when it is time to switch over to the new tank in early 2026, but Council will provide advance notice to all affected properties.
Residents may notice heavy vehicle movement while works are underway, particularly along Robertson Street. Traffic control will be in place when required.
Council thanks the community for their patience while these important works are undertaken.
